Sea of Thieves Bounty Skull Lamp

A custom build for a friend and fan of Sea of Thieves. I found an excellent model by Garret Williams and printed on a Wanhao D9 in PETG.

After what seemed like days of sanding and post-processing, I played with some paint styles to give it that semi-real, semi-cartoony look from the game which came out really well.

I built a wooden base out of some old roof timbers sliced, sanded and glued together, and wired in a colour changing 12v LED strip which is controlled by a remote to change the colour and brightness of the light.

It was a very satisfying build, bringing in a bit of electronics and artistic skills into one project.

    Boba Fett Helmet

This was my first big 'make' project. Printing on a dirt cheap printer, using techniques I'd never used before. It was printed in 32 separate pieces on a Tronxy X1 that I got from Gearbest for under £100.

Printing took around 30 days printing one or two pieces a day give or take a few print failures. The parts were then epoxied together into one and the marathon of sanding and filling began.

My first experience using filler primers, acrylic paints, air brushing and masking was a fun and messy learning process. Having never done anything like this, I experimented lots to get the effects that I wanted for realistic chipping / layering of colours and weathering.

        Boba Fett's EE-3 Carbine Rifle

After hanging Boba Fett's helmet on the wall, it seemed appropriate to print out his rifle. This was the last project printed on the Tronxy X1
